The Spouse Factor: 5 Tips To Overcome A Non-Supportive Spouse
If your spouse doesn't want to change their eating habits, which you know is affecting yours, try this:
Lighten the load. Maybe your mate's eating patterns grow from frustration, disappointment, or overwork that you can help remedy. AKA they have their own stresses. Go ahead and give support (even though we know it is you that needs it. Just remember the golden rule) by saying such words as "I love you, honey. I don't want you to ever feel that I'm pressuring or hounding you. I want to cooperate. Tell me how I can help you most."
Also remove all unhealthy food from the house. (This one is a little harder to do if your spouse doesn't want to change their eating habits.)(BUT If you are the grocery shopper, then you have the control ;-) )
These 5 tips should give you some insight on what to do with a non-supportive spouse. If they are down right abusive about it, then seek professional help, please before it does any more damage to you emotionally and your weight loss efforts.
Remember that you are a beautiful unique person inside and out. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise!
