A good sign that you’re doing the wrong thing is if you’re spending huge amounts of time at the gym and you’re still huge. Wasting your time is frustrating because you deserve results. Why put in all that hard work for nothing? The truth is that you’re probably not doing the best exercises. I’ve been working in fitness with men and women for longer than a sixteen year career, and I know a thing or two about fat loss.

Over this time, I’ve discovered five fantastic drills that are essential to burning fat and building muscles. These Fantastic Five moves will get your metabolic rate up and get that flab off your tummy.

Let me put it as plain as I can: without these exercises in your routine, you are spending too much time and money in your fitness efforts. Of course, I need to explain myself somewhat because these are really five moves, not distinct processes that you use to exercise with.

This Fabulous Five routine is a collection of moves that will get you the results you want with less time every day.

Getting variation in your moves is one of the core principles, so be sure to remember that as you do interval-style workouts with the moves I’ve listed below. So, here’s the Fabulous five starting off with the most important.

One: Squatting moves. Here you can do barbells, dumbbells, deadlifts, kettlebells, or even the trendy swings.

You’ll find that a lot of folks are using the kettlebell now becaus of the additional movement they require: it helps burn more fat. Squats get your mechanics into the effort and that’s a good thing because you need to burn a large calorie count.

Two: Pushes. These can be pushups or presses to engage large muscle groups.

Notice how alternating upper and lower body moves will use the principle of letting one muscle group rest while you work the other.

One day last week I performed a complete anti-fat workout that used my entire body to exercise. After that I went back to work answering inquiries people have about losing body fat. I had even more questions about using intervals as part of a workout plan and using one’s own body mass to exercise. I get questions from males and females alike from all over the place.

One message that caught my eye was from a new member that had a motivating story to tell me. We were talking about how to exercise on days off and he told me about the 10 step sequence he did that day.

When he got to the gym he met up with a few people who were doing their typical cardio routine, but he talked them into following my all-inclusive workout. They found it to be a great experience that was so exciting, they want to make it a weekly event.

This kind of series is lots of fun, plus it’s very effective to burn fat right off your body.

I’m going to list this series for you and you need to do it instead of intervals if you want.

One: Warming up with bottom half drills. Try a squat or an extension

Two: A medium top half warming drill like a push-up or kneel push-up would do.

Three: One legged moves, such as a lunge or step up for a medium fit person.

Four: Do some harder varieties of push-ups here with a high number of repetitions.

Five: Squats with high repetitions. These are great for getting your body conditioned.

Six: Next do a high number of repetitions that do the whole body like climbing mountains.

Seven: Another 1-legged drill. Choose a different one from before, perhaps the dead lift on one leg.

Cardio isn’t really an effective way to get rid of belly and thigh fat.You can try it, but it’s not going to get the results you want. The tratitional thought is to do crunching moves to improve your stomach and then get on the thigh machine to get the fat off your things. This is not the best approach. What you really need to do is intervals on a regular basis to get that flab burned off and to get your muscles toned. I’ve been getting my clients on interval plans for more than ten years, way before this style of training became popular.

Back then it was worse than it is today: people thought I was nuts for getting people off cardio and onto intervals. Even now people are still skeptical, but the difference is that they get great results.

I have a study from Australia where 3 sections of females were guided through a four month prgram for losing fat. There was one group used for reference. Another one performed interval training 3 days out of seven for 20 minutes.

Then the last group worked out with 3 periods of traditional cardiovascular drills of forty mins. each.

This study involved 45 females with weight conditions that averaged a BMI of 23.22.

At the end of the study they found that the women doing intervals had made significant headway against fat.

This was valid for all of them, although the heavier participants got the best results.

You might have guessed it: the women who worked with cardio didn’t accomplish anything at all. Intervals are accomplished in a number of ways: on machines inside, outdoors on your feet or on a bike.

What you do is alternate periods of high intensity with periods of low intensity, repeated for six cycles.

In today’s society, personal self-improvement has become an important issue. Many people do workouts and exercises, eat healthy food, or engage in other activities in order to stay physically fit. People are always trying to find the best way that they can to cover up deficiencies that they think they have. How much a person weights is one of the things that is always looked at.

There are many ways to improve your image of yourself through diet. One way is to eat a diet that cleans out the impurities from your body. There have been many diets written that claim they can do this. The idea behind this type of diet is to clean the toxins that are in your body and that impede your bodies ability to properly digest the food that you eat, and when you follow the diet the toxins are removed causing your body to work more efficiently and to burn more calories thus creating a system where your body learns how to lose weight fast and gets your body into shape quickly with little effort. Another reason diets like this are effective as a weight loss tool is because they limit the amount of calories that are taken in. Any time that you reduce your caloric intake, you can lose some weight. These types of diets do work, but a person must be careful when undertaking one of these plans. If you limit the variety of food that you eat, you might not be getting all of the nutritional things that your body needs to work correctly. Because of this one should check out these types of diets carefully and not do them for an extended period of time.

To find information about a diet a person can consult with their physician or if they want to check online they can go to websites such as the biggest loser forum that offer advice and hints about dieting in addition to providing support groups and chat rooms to discuss the information that is available about diet and exercise plans. The key to a successful diet is to plan ahead. When you don’t plan what you are going to eat, it is much harder to control the amount of calories that you take in. No matter what diet plan you choose, if you take in fewer calories than you use, you will be able to lose weight.

Losing weight is not the only improvement that can be made by dieting. If a person is able to change his lifestyle and to stop eating foods that are bad for them, then their overall health will benefit. It is very easy to eat all of your meals at the local fast food joint, but that is not always the best decision to make. Fast food tends to be very high in calories and high in fat. It is possible to take enough calories for a whole day in one meal at a fast food restaurant. That does not mean that you have to completely ignore the convenience of a fast food place. It just means that it should be done in moderation and you should be careful about the choices that you make in those establishments.

If a person’s goal is to improve their looks than they have to do more than just diet, they have to get up and exercise which could be as simple as doing six pack ab exercises in the comfort of their living room. Without doing this a diet can only work so well. By combining the exercise and diet program together, a person can create a body they can be proud of.

It is easy to spot the fat that is around your waist, but it is not always easy to get rid of it. There are a lot of products available that promise to burn the fat away from your waist, a person has to make a decision on what will work for them. It is important to remember that what will work for one person will not always work for another.

There is a tremendous amount of products that are advertising on television and in print media products that promise to show you how to lose weight fast, or that they will jumpstart any diet program and allow you to lose ten pounds in ten days, but what are these products really doing and do they really work or are they just selling false promises. Many of these products work on the premise that they get rid of the toxins in your body. By getting rid of the toxins they speed up your metabolism. When they speed up your metabolism, you burn more calories, and if you burn more calories, then you are able to lose weight. In addition to getting rid of the toxins in your body these products also often contain an appetitie suppressant. This helps a person to eat less. the combination of speeding up your metabolism and also eating less food is a definite recipe for weight loss.

Many of these products include a disclaimer that they should used in conjunction with a total fitness program. That is the key to any diet. these products that are advertised might help a person lose weight , but they are not a cure all. The products will not be able to just get rid of the weight without any effort on the part of the person who wants to lose weight. There is no substitute for exercise and the best way to firm up a person’s belly is still the old fashioned way of a proper diet and a set of six pack ab exercises daily, instead of trying to take shortcuts by using something that promises to produce results with only a couple minutes of your time each day spent using their product. While a person can hope all they want to do it the easy way, if they don’t put forth the effort they won’t get the desired results.

If a person really wants to get fit and toned, then they need to spend the time and do the research whether they do the research in a library or with a fitness professional, or online at websites that offer fitness education such as the biggest loser forum, so that they can figure out the best way for themselves. The decision to lose weight is a personal decision. The choice on how to lose that weight is also a personal decision. If a person chooses a method that hey don’t like, then they will not commit to it, and the program will fail. If a person wants to reach their goals they have to find a program that they enjoy and therefore that they will follow. If they are not able to do these things then they are better off not starting them because they will just be wasting their time and money.

Deciding to get fit and trim is a great thing. Following through with that decision is an even better thing. If anyone looks in the mirror and is not happy with the way they look, than it is worth making that decision. It is a decision that will help improve someone’s self image and will also improve their health. By getting fit and trim and healthy, a person will have a better chance of enjoying the way they look and feel for a longer time.

Formulating a goal is a wonderful thing to do. If you don’t know what you want, how will you ever know if you’ve gotten it? That’s probably why so many people decide they want to get a better body for the New Year. But whatever you are after, body composition, muscle mass, energy, or athletics, you have to establish it as a goal so you can work to achieve it. Successes will never come to you unless you know what you’re going to look like.

You’ll notice that many people never get anywhere in life, whether it’s their body, their finances, their career, or their education. You really should consider meeting with a professional to help you decide upon and document the kind of body you want to have.

Part of this should be finding practical ways to keep you committed to your goals even when you want to ignore them. It’s only natural to have difficulty staying true because most people get very busy and don’t have enough time to do what they need to do.

There is an answer to that kind of dilemma: make your exercise time a scheduled event just like you would any other “must do” event during the day.

Goals are more than just getting your daily work done anyway: you want to create map that you will use to follow directly to your goal. To get beyond a daily routine and start moving toward your goal, you need to start from the goal and work backwards to document your plan.

This makes you develop a strict, factual plan because you will have to define all the steps you need to take and when you need to take them to make your dreams become reality.

This way you know exactly when you will have your goal attained. If you go the other way, the time you need to reach each goal is indefinite.

Sometime and somehow just isn’t going to get the job done: you need to know when and how.

I don’t think you’re the only one who’s working overtime at the fitness center and not getting expected progress. The reason you’re not getting where you want to go is because of your mouth and what you’re putting in it. Get started by leaving the bags and boxes out of your grocery shopping and get you some fruit and veggie choices instead. Changing over to some high-veg content might not happen overnight. In fact that may cause problems with your stomach and gas.

The thing to do is to switch gradually all the time, moving towards a diet with better food in it. Like fitness, your diet can always be improved over time.

The important thing is to get started. You’ll never improve your diet if you never do anything about it. You’ll find you want to eat less too. Simply put, you’re going to have to get better fuels powering your system to have a better and a longer life.

Stay away from food that is greasy, sugary, and instant. You might have to get in the habit of doing a menu, but just be patient.

You’re going to want to change to consuming a few conservative portions throughout the day so you’ll keep your body powered. As you do this, you want to emphasize proteins and fibers to get the most benefit.

Eating like that will combine with your intervals at training time to burn fat and to make you seem like a totally different person.

It doesn’t matter what your age is either: as long as you’re alive, you can work on having a better body. You don’t have to surrender to aging; you don’t have to surrender to fat.

So fight back with exercise and diet and you’ll see yourself getting the results you’ve been looking for all this time.

Some people don’t realize how much almonds can contribute to your weight-loss program. Sure, almonds are high in fats, but they are superior than oatmeal and other complex-carbohydrate sources. I’ve seen it in health magazines for men, people wondering about how bad the starch-carbs are. By this, I’m talking about the potato, the yam, and other veggies.

It should be clear the a potato is a denser source of calories that broccoli’s source. Therefore, it’s reasonable to say that broccoli is a better choice than a potato mash, when it comes to weight loss.

My experience is that removing breads, rices, and pastas from the diet and taking in carbs from veggies, nuts, and fruits results in more abdominal fat loss. This kind of diet will combine with intervals to burn fat at a very fast rate.

This is a truth that is backed by scientific study.

Think about how a 2003 study showed that almonds were more advantageous than carbs. From the time that came out, I have been pushing my clients to consume more almonds.

Now, some people don’t like almonds because they think they’re too bland.

That’s why I have some ways that will make almonds more exciting, as long as you can fit them into your calorie goals. First I want you to try using almond snacks that have been unsalted and dry-roasted.

If they’re oil-roasted you’ll mitigate the almond’s benefits to your health in exchange for taste, so stay away from that kind.

You can even make your own roasted almonds in a kitchen oven. Just bake at about 350° for ten mins. and you’ll have them ready.

Another good idea for getting almonds into your diet is cocoa-nibs that combine two good flavors together to make a tasty treat. Mix in a berry with your almonds to get even more vitamin/mineral content and aminos.

Observation will tell you that cardiovascular training actually works for some people who want to lose wright. For the most part, these people are young, males, and have more than average amounts of time to spend exercising. Also true is that the people who benefit from cardio in this manner are in the minority. For example, there was a study that suggests to us that cardio makes women fatter than if they did nothing.

Sitll, those who are getting some results with cardio aren’t getting the best results they can get. And again, cardio doesn’t get the results people expect. Some of that’s due to the new study that shows how it boosts your appetite.

There’s no doubt that there is a minority that has burned pounds using cardio, but there is a much larger majority that has gained weight through cardio. There’s nothing so disappointing as working out all the time and getting bigger rather than smaller.

The study I’m referencing was done over an 8 week period and showed that one of the reasons cardio fails is because it boosts appetite: those involved ate more than ever.

If you think that’s helpful, than just stick with cardio. It sounds bad to me. How will you reach your goal this way? A similar study that has been released shows that the ones who do lose weight through cardio only lose about 6 lbs over the course of a whole year.

That’s after investing an hour each day 6 days every week: not a very good return on investment.

So, again, scientific researchers contradict cardio as a valid method of weight loss. There have also been two head-on comparisons of interval training against cardiovascular training for weight loss.

Consistently, those who work with interval training will lose more fat than anyone doing cardio.

Back in my younger days, I trained hard almost every day and played sports too. What I didn’t understand back then is that I was putting myself at serious risk for injury. Now that I’m older and aware of the implications of over-doing it, I see people acting a lot like I did long ago. What happens when you push yourself too hard is that you get hurt and then you’re sidelined for life.

One thing is for sure: cardiovascular exercise has an evil aspect to it that causes harm to the body and nothing in the way of fat loss. When people see that cardio’s not helping them, they often respond by doing it harder and longer in hopes of getting some results.

This is a recipe for disaster. You should only do cardio or intervals three or four times a week. The same thing goes for weights: only work with them 4 times a week

The bottom line is that you need to exercise caution when it comes to your fitness program.

So, here are some hints that can help you stay well as you exercise. One: Do exercises that you understand and can do in proper form.

Two: If you feel pain, stop. If a particular drill hurts, then get a pro to help you find a different move to try.

Three: When trying some new things, use very easy weights until you learn proper form and adequately work through any initial pain. Four: Take extra rest or recovery time if you think you need it. If you don’t you could get hurt.

Five: Have another person there to help if you’re doing heavy-weight exercises. It’s dangerous to do these alone.

Six: Don’t accept pressure to perform. Your egotism isn’t going to loook good when you’re disabled.

Seven: Limit your intervals to four times weekly. Professionals don’t try to do more, so you shouldn’t either.
